Dr Huw Adams
MBChB · MRCGP · FRACGP · DCH
Background & Training
Originally from Cardiff, Wales, Dr Adams graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Birmingham in 2014, going on to gain broad clinical experience across hospital and community settings in both the United Kingdom and Australia.
After completing specialist GP training in the UK — earning Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) — he relocated to Queensland's Sunshine Coast, where he subsequently achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP). He also holds a Diploma in Child Health (DCH).
Working across both systems deepened his interest in preventative medicine. Too often, the serious health events he encountered in clinical practice had been building quietly for years — detectable, and in many cases preventable with earlier intervention. It was this that led him to develop a structured preventative health service: a dedicated assessment designed to identify and address risk before it becomes a problem.
Approach to Care
Dr Adams takes a structured, evidence-based approach to general practice — one that looks beyond the presenting problem to the broader picture of long-term health. Appointments are unhurried. Investigations are ordered where they'll genuinely change management, not reflexively. And patients leave with a clear understanding of where things stand and what comes next.
His particular interest is in identifying risk before it becomes disease — the cardiovascular, metabolic, and cancer risks that develop quietly over years and are far more addressable when caught early.
