How it Works

Book online or call reception on (07) 5471 2100. Select 'Preventative Health Review Initial' for a preventative health appointment — a deposit is required to confirm. For all other new patient appointments, select 'New Patient'. The Preventative Health Review is a dedicated 45-minute structured assessment and is not interchangeable with a standard new patient appointment. If you are unsure which appointment is right for you, please call reception before booking.

2

Complete Your Intake Form Preventative Health Review only

3

Arrive for Your Appointment

Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first visit. Reception will check you in and let Dr Adams know you've arrived.

Fees

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a Preventative Health Review and a standard new patient appointment?

A standard new patient appointment is a 30-minute consultation to establish care, discuss your current concerns, and begin any immediate management. It's the right starting point if you have a specific issue or are looking for an ongoing GP.

The Preventative Health Review is a separate, dedicated service — a longer, structured assessment designed to identify risk before symptoms appear. It includes a detailed health questionnaire completed in advance, comprehensive blood work, and a full review of cardiovascular, metabolic, hormonal, and cancer risk. Most patients book a new patient appointment first and then schedule the PHR once they're established with Dr Adams.

Is there a gap fee? Do you bulk bill?

Peregian Beach Medical is a private billing practice - a fee applies to all consultations. The fees for the Preventative Health Review are listed in the table above. Standard consultation fees are available from reception.

Is the deposit for the Preventative Health Review refundable if I cancel?

Yes - the deposit is fully refundable if you cancel or reschedule with more than 48 hours notice. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment will forfeit the deposit, as the extended time slot cannot easily be filled at short notice. If you need to reschedule, please call reception on (07) 5471 2100 as early as possible.

Do I need a referral to see Dr Adams?

No. You do not need a referral to see Dr Adams as a GP. Simply book an appointment directly through our online system or by calling reception.

Can I transfer my medical records from my previous GP?

Yes. We can arrange to have your records transferred from your previous GP. Please ask reception for a records transfer form, or we can contact your previous practice directly with your written consent.

Is the practice wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The practice is fully accessible for patients with mobility aids. There is accessible parking nearby and step-free entry. Please let us know in advance if you have any specific accessibility needs.

What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please give us at least 2 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. You can do this online via the booking system or by calling reception on (07) 5471 2100. Late cancellations incur a fee.

Does Dr Adams offer telehealth consultations?

Yes. Telehealth appointments are available for eligible patients. These are conducted via video or phone call and are suitable for follow-up consultations, results reviews, and certain ongoing conditions. Please ask reception when booking if telehealth is appropriate for your needs.
